gravedream's Squares and a Five is an impressive piece. It hits hard, both lyrically and instrumentally, and the vocals are stunning. Absolutely worth listening to.

gravedream (she/they) is an experimental producer, singer, and rapper from Chicago, Illinois. She layers sensory textures, intimate musings and trans supremacy in her bedroom to create murky, yet melodic soundscapes that exist in a world of their own. She is also a Grimalkin collective member who helps us with social media, mixing, mastering, and producing.
Her newest single and loosie Squares and a Five is a glitch-laden collection of musings on mortality and what it takes to keep going. Over a noisy, yet melancholy backdrop, gravedream contemplates the failures of capitalism and how they exacerbate the exhaustion of being alive. With an album in the works, Squares and a Five serves as a preview of what's to come from gravedream in 2021.
I’d like to thank my partner Evan for listening to me obsess over every single second of this track, and my roommates for putting up with me sending my weird soundwaves into their space every day. And to all the friends who listened to the drafts of this piece and helped me find my way. Also a very big Not Thank You to T*rget. Fuck you.

The whole album really gives R&B its hyperpop edge. Holy crap, "Switch" just has to be my favorite track because of how hard it goes, but also the vocals in "Metallic" feel like you are being cleansed by the track. Also "Buya" SLAPS. ~simone~

Love this so much! DDIN is talent that will continue to go places. Honestly couldn't choose just one favorite track - everything in this dark atmospheric fairly tale land of an album sounds amazing and should really be listened to as a whole. Don't sleep on this! Anna
